This unique, handcrafted porcelain crock will safely hold your miso for a year as it ferments and develops into the nourishing flavour rich product you can, and will, use everyday.
Your crock comes with a beeswax wrap to cover, a set of 3 custom made weights, and a small porcelain cup designed to easily gather the tamari at the end of the ferment.
Like many of the fermented foods that have gained favour in recent years, making miso is a beautiful transformative process best done in the company of others. We can send a recipe and ingredients for this - there is a recipe in my book ‘Ferment for Good’ as well You will need 1.5kgs of dried soy beans to fill the crock.
The crock is glazed inside with a clear gloss and matte black on the outside. Weights made with stoneware clay.
Wax wraps made using lightweight cotton and wax from Emma's own hives.
